Juventus cancels exhibition match at Olympic Stadium Add to ...

Juventus has pulled out of an exhibition match against Paris St.Germain scheduled for July 31 at Olympic Stadium, organizers announced Wednesday.

The 28-time Italian Serie-A champion was forced to cancel because it will participate in the Italian Super Cup in Beijing.

That forced changes in the 2012 Herbalife World Football Challenge tournament and left Montreal without a match. Tickets will be refunded.

PSG will now face D.C. United of Major League Soccer at RFK Stadium in Washington and while Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid will play Mexican champion Santos Laguna in Las Vegas.

”Unfortunately, a suitable replacement for the Montreal game that had schedule availabilities and matched the level of excitement of the rest of the clubs participating in the competition was unable to be secured, and therefore the match has been cancelled,” promoter Evenko said in a statement.

PSG is also to play English club Chelsea on July 22 at Yankee Stadium in New York.
