Toronto FC striker Danny Koevermans was named Major League Soccer's player of the week on Monday.

Koevermans scored both goals in Saturday's 2-1 victory over Colorado Rapids at BMO Field. In seven league games this season the Dutch striker — one of Toronto's three designated players — has scored six goals.

He signed with Toronto on June 29, along with midfielder Torsten Frings, and has since logged 511 minutes in league play so far this season.

It's the second TFC player to earn the honour this season. Ecuadorian striker Joao Plata was named player of the week on May 9.
