Your daily World Cup tip sheet for who's playing when, and what to watch for. We'll deliver a new briefing the evening before every game day, highlighting the can't-miss match and which players to watch.

Match of the day: Nigeria vs. Argentina

The latest match in an emerging soccer rivalry, Nigeria and Argentina have squared off numerous times at major international tournaments, including three times at the World Cup. The Super Eagles have yet to take a win off La Albiceleste, but will feel like a stout defence that hasn’t surrendered a goal in Brazil yet will give them a shot against Messi and friends. Argentina is through, but will want to look more impressive than they have in close wins over Bosnia-Herzegovina and Iran. Nigeria needs at least a draw to advance to the knockout round for the first time since 1998.

Player to watch: Nigeria goalie Vincent Enyeama

The team captain has continued the strong form he showed this season for the French side Lille. Known for his great reflexes, Enyeama is also a coach on the field, keeping his back four organized and aware. Argentina's manager Alejandro Sabella praised him ahead of this match, calling him a pillar of the Nigeria team and a “great goaltender.”
