Subban among 17 cuts at Habs camp Add to ...

Goalie Cedrick Desjardins, defenceman P.K. Subban and forward David Desharnais were among 17 players cut by the Montreal Canadiens on Monday.

All are to join the American Hockey League's Hamilton Bulldogs, who are to leave Tuesday for the start of their camp in Scotland.

Also cut were goalie Robert Mayer, defencemen Andre Benoit, Chad Anderson, Michael Busto and Frederik St-Denis, and forwards Ryan White, Mikael Johansson, James Wyman, Ryan Russell, Andrew Conboy, Brock Trotter, Dany Masse, Mike Glumac and Mathieu Darche.

A team spokesman did not confirm a report that two others - goalie Curtis Sanford and defenceman Shawn Belle - were placed on waivers in order to be assigned to Hamilton.

The team also announced that six others are out with injuries - Paul Mara (lower body), Roman Hamrlik (virus), Georges Laraque (lower body) Kyle Chipchura (shoulder), Alex Henry (hand) and Olivier Fortier (shoulder).
