Carol Bartz, president and CEO of Yahoo Bartz has been open about the tradeoffs she made, going so far as to call work-life balance "a myth." When her daughter was a baby she would spend four days a week away from her, working in California, she told More magazine. "I got to use my mind, I got to sleep, I got to have a real career. ... It was awesome for me, and I don’t think [my daughter] is any the worse for it.”
