It has taken a lot longer to get here than Research In Motion imagined, but the Waterloo, Ont.-based Canadian tech firm has finally unveiled its best bet for a turnaround, the BlackBerry 10 line of phones.

The company also had a surprise – it's abandoning the RIM corporate name. The company will now be known as BlackBerry, and will trade under new ticker symbols – BB on the Toronto Stock Exchange and BBRY on Nasdaq.

The launch event in New York, which includes details on the two new BlackBerry handsets, is happening simultaneously in New York, Toronto, London, Paris, Dubai, Johannesburg, Jakarta and Delhi

Iain Marlow and Omar El Akkad provided live reaction, read the transcript of our blog below (mobile users may find this an easier way to read).
