Some BlackBerry users were hit with yet another a service outage Friday morning.
Research in Motion Ltd. said its technical teams addressed the problem and services were returning to normal levels.
However, RIM did not say how widespread the problem was or how many users were affected, and a representative for the company did not return calls to confirm any details.
“We apologize to customers for any inconvenience,” the company said in an emailed statement.
“We take all service issues – no matter how small – very seriously and through constant monitoring and investigation we aim to ensure our network meets customer expectations.”
The outage was the first for the company since it launched its new BlackBerry 10 smartphones earlier this year.
It came a day after BlackBerry received approval from the U.S. Defence Department for the use of its new devices on its networks.
The company launched its long-awaited Z10 touchscreen at the end of January, while the Q10 version with a physical keyboard went on sale in Canada this week.
Shares of the company closed down six cents to $15.77 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
