Bank of Canada

Created in 1935 in the depths of the Great Depression, and based in Ottawa, Canada's central bank is responsible for monetary policy, currency production and distribution, and financial system stability.

On May 2, 2013, Finance Minister Jim Flaherty named Stephen Poloz the ninth Bank of Canada governor.
