Red-hot auto stocks: Don’t expect this ride to last

No wonder Chrysler Group LLC filed plans this week for an initial public offering. Auto stocks have been hot investments this year, with gains that suggest something new and exciting under the hood.

On closer inspection, though, what you’ll find are the same old companies: best bought when times are bad, and unloaded when times are good.
