It’s Fed day at last – the moment when investors and economists learn what the U.S. Federal Reserve is going to do with its monthly bond purchasing program, known as quantitative easing or QE. Recent strong economic data, including the declining U.S. unemployment rate, has put a lot of focus on the policy announcement, although observers are still divided over whether tapering will be announced today or early next year.
