HSBC economist Stephen King has joined the chorus warning that global credit conditions are increasingly similar to the lead-up to the financial crisis. He writes, “It seems as though few lessons have been learnt since the onset of the financial crisis: easy money has led to a dramatic increase in issuance of paper with little protection for investors who, greedy for yield, have seemingly brushed potential risks to one side.”
