Two new players in the key portfolio of finance are shaking up the daily dynamic in the House of Commons.

For the first time in eight years, there’s a new finance minister on the government benches in Joe Oliver, the former natural resources minister who has skyrocketed to the second-highest job in government less than three years after becoming an MP.
