Bank of America swaps legal fight for earnings battle

Bank of America boss Brian Moynihan may finally be finding relief from the firm’s many legal fights. The $2.4-trillion (U.S.) institution is close to an estimated $16.5-billion settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice over dodgy home loans, according to the Wall Street Journal. The deal would resolve most of BofA’s mortgage woes. Mr. Moynihan won’t be able to rest for long, though: His next battle is to improve earnings.
