Trading revenue ‘biggest unknown’ for banks next quarter

Just how much money banks made while trading in these volatile markets will be a focus when their next set of quarterly profits are reported.

“The biggest unknown this quarter is the impact of the rotation away from fixed income assets, which materially reduces our confidence in this quarter’s forecast,” analysts Peter Routledge and Shubha Khan wrote in a National Bank Financial research note on Monday.
