Global real estate M&A grows along with Canadian appetite for deals

Real estate has dominated the Canadian deal-making landscape in recent months, but other countries have also developed a voracious appetite for buying land and building assets.

Global real estate deal making increased to $182.5-billion in the one-year period to Aug. 22, up by 40 per cent over the 2012 year, according to data from Thomson Reuters (pdf). This marks the highest annualized figure posted since 2007.
