Barclays adds UBS’s Paul Knight to beef up mining coverage

Barclays is stepping up in the metals space, hiring one of Canada’s most prominent mining investment bankers to be co-head of the British bank’s team covering the industry globally.

After 18 years at UBS AG, including a stint as global head of mining, Toronto-based financier Paul Knight is moving to Barclays. He will be joined by Michael Rawlinson, who will be the other half of the co-head team, working from London. Mr. Rawlinson had a long career at JP Morgan Cazenove, where he ran metals and mining coverage before moving on to found independent investment bank Liberum Capital in 2006.
