Cantor Fitzgerald scoops up Stifel team

Cantor Fitzgerald Canada is expanding by adding a sales and trading team set adrift when Stifel Nicolaus pulled out of Canada .

It’s a story of one U.S. firm growing while another disappears. Stifel abruptly shut up shop this summer, dismayed by a lack of business. Cantor Fitzgerald is going the other way, having purchased boutique Versant Partners in 2012 to get bigger in Canada.
