GMP taps Overstrom, Felesky to lead energy

GMP Securities, one of the biggest boutique banks in the oil patch, has named two homegrown bankers co-heads of energy after the departure in July of the firm’s long-time Calgary chief.

GMP said in an internal announcement that Kevin Overstrom and Wade Felesky are now the co-heads of energy investment banking. Mr. Overstrom has been with GMP almost since its beginnings and his most recent title was vice-chairman and global head of equity and debt capital markets, a role that involves raising money for many of the company’s energy clients.
