No bargains for mid-market private-equity players

Low interest rates, easy lending and aggressive U.S. buyers are making it tough for mid-market private-equity buyers to find good deals.

Despite an abundance of baby boomers looking to sell their businesses, private-equity buyers are having little luck finding good bargains. Prolonged low interest rates have made it attractive to borrow money to fund acquisitions, and banks are also willing to lend, so almost anyone can go buying.
