BMO names new head of M&A for U.S.

BMO Nesbitt Burns has hired an experienced American deal maker to head its U.S. mergers and acquisitions group.

Investment banker Lyle Wilpon will take on the role, splitting his time between bases in New York and Chicago, BMO confirmed Friday.

Mr. Wilpon joins the bank after spending nearly a year as a managing director at international investment bank Houlihan Lokey in New York. At that time, the bank praised Mr. Wilpon’s diverse experience working on a variety of deals, from traditional M&A to “divestitures, restructurings, acquisition financings, and cross-border transactions.”
