Securities class actions almost double in four years

There are almost twice as many securities class actions before Canadian courts as there were four years ago, a new report says, although the number of new cases filed each year remains flat.

According to the annual report on securities class actions from NERA Economic Consulting, there were 54 securities class actions before the courts as of the end of last year – up from 28 such cases at the end of 2009.
