The energy player investment banks are all eyeing

Everybody wants a piece of Long Run Exploration Ltd.’s deal flow. Despite a market value of just $757-million, the small but growing energy player has attracted widespread attention from Canadian investment banks, prompting 15 of them to launch analyst coverage.

It’s easy to see why. Long Run’s inked three financings in just four months, as well as a sizable acquisition. More deals are surely on the way. Better yet, the company also has a well known chief executive officer in Bill Andrew, the former head of Penn West Petroleum Ltd. Name recognition goes a long way in the oil patch.
