Energy sector stock trading fires up hiring at investment houses

Investment dealers may not want to admit it yet, but hiring and salaries in institutional equity sales and trading look to be on rise as energy leads a rebound in business volume.

In the last half of this year’s first quarter, there were more hires in those parts of the Canadian capital markets business than in all of 2013, said veteran Bay Street headhunter Joe Kan, who has tracked such data for the past 18 years.
