Groupon snaps up Canadian coupon app

In a peculiar but not entirely surprising move, daily deals giant Groupon bought SnapSaves, a Canadian mobile coupon app, Monday.

Created by Toronto-based daily deals company Buytopia as a compliment to their own site, the SnapSaves app offers cash back coupons on groceries. Users snap a photo of their receipt, and receive a check in the mail with money back if they bought featured products.
