Macquarie hires GMP mining analyst

There's another new face at Macquarie Group, as the dealer added coverage of Canadian uranium and coal plays Wednesday by hiring mining analyst Duncan McKeen from GMP Securities. Macquarie brought aboard an analyst with five years of experience at GMP, and four years in sales at mining companies. GMP has a resource-focused client base - investors and companies - that Macquarie is targeting in Canada. Mr. McKeen is the latest in a string of infrastructure, energy and mining analysts to join Macquarie. Sydney-based Macquarie is building its local research platform after buying boutique investment dealer Orion Financial last year for $147-million.
