Scotia taps Canadian to run Mexican unit

Bank of Nova Scotia has named Troy Wright as its new chief executive officer of Grupo Financiero Scotiabank Mexico.

Most recently, Mr. Wright was an executive vice president of retail distribution for Canadian banking. Before that, he ran Scotia’s operation in Puerto Rico.

The new role adds to Mr. Wright’s extensive resume with the bank, where he has been employed since 1993. He’s also worked in international mergers and acquisitions as well as capital markets in Mexico.
