As the Toronto Stock Exchange soared following BHP Billiton Ltd.’s blockbuster bid for Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan, rising on expectations of a strengthening global economy and the resulting demand for resources, fears of a commodity supercycle were made loud and clear.
