Junior miner in hot water over dubious ties to Kinross

It’s been a bizarre week for Kinross Gold Corp.
Out of the blue on Boxing Day, Dallas-based junior gold explorer Southridge Enterprises Inc. put out a press release claiming that it is in advanced talks with Kinross on a joint venture to develop two Mexican assets. The company went so far as to ascribe a project value of about $600-million (U.S.).
