Three Canadian women, actresses Liane Balaban, Vanessa Matsui and costume designer Jenna Wright, are the founders of Crankytown.ca, an online hub for young women to share stories about menstruation. The site partners with Huru, an organization that provides menstrual products to women in Nairobi. Crankytown is launching an online film festival, calling for 3-minute entries focusing on periods.
