CTV's news division is about to undergo a series of management changes that take effect early next month.
CTV News president Robert Hurst said yesterday that Derwyn Smith, previously vice-president of CFTO, will become vice-president of CTV Newsnet.
Paul Rogers, formerly vice-president and executive producer of Canada AM, assumes Smith's former role as vice-president of CFTO News.
Lis Travers, who spent the past 22 years working in television news in Montreal, most recently as news director at CTV's Montreal station CFCF, succeeds Rogers as vice-president and executive producer of Canada AM, the network's flagship morning show.
Finally, Mark Sikstrom, a 20-year veteran of CTV's news department, will become executive producer of CTV News Syndication, with responsibility for DNS (CTV's daily news service), affiliate newsroom relations and CTV.ca. Squaring the circle, it was Sikstrom who has been responsible for CTV NewsNet, the job Smith now assumes.
