Should Canada legalize prostitution? Kent Nason and Teresa MacInnes provide a straightforward presentation of both sides of the issue – culminating in the 2012 Ontario Superior Court decision dismantling the laws against brothels and pimping – that makes it clear the answer is anything but straightforward. What emerges is class warfare, a fight that pits a careerist lawyer representing sex trade workers who enjoy the job against women’s rights advocates who speak for the victimized majority, the street walkers who are poor, abused and often native.
