Kiefer Sutherland as John Henry Clayton and Donald Sutherland as Rev.Dan Power

Squinting like an unforgiven Clint Eastwood at high noon, Kiefer Sutherland struggles to keep his six-shooter holstered in a brooding western he shares with his father (Donald Sutherland). In a standard cowering-town-needs-a-gunfighter drama, typical themes (redemption, forgiveness) are laid out with little imagination. But Brian Cox's land-grabbing villain gets excellent lines to deliver, Alberta stands in well for 1872 Wyoming and the dynamics of a father-son reconciliation is fascinating to watch, as played out on screen by the scene-sharing real-life father and son.
