Maelström, which recently won five Genies, cleaned up at Quebec's Jutra Awards on the weekend, winning all eight categories in which it had been nominated. (See Montreal Diary, R3.)

The Denis Villeneuve film captured the Jutras for best picture, director, actress, screenplay, art direction, cinematography, editing and sound. Other awards went to Michel Jette's Hochelaga and Philippe Falardeau's La Moitié Gauche du Frigo (for best actor, Paul Ahmarani). CP
