A Manitoba woman is collecting bras to toss at Nickelback when they perform here in March.

"We're just going to belt them with generosity," says Cindy Kobluk, who's already urged area women to give 150 bras.

Chad Kroeger, frontman for the Alberta rockers, has urged fans to throw their bras on stage at concerts in Calgary and Winnipeg in January and February. He told the crowd in Winnipeg the band would sign the lingerie, which would be auctioned off for charity.

"In a day and a half, I collected 68 bras," Ms. Kobluk said. "Imagine the impact on us, being known as the small town with a big heart.

"It feels good. I'm giving back to a band that's given to me."

Other women in nearby towns are also collecting bras.

"We are telling everybody to go through their drawers," says Becki Fulhan, a hair stylist in Birtle, Man.

"It's just because it's being donated to charity."

However, Ms. Kobluk has yet to snag a ticket to the concert in Brandon on March 11, so the bras may not make it on stage.

She's not worried, though.

"Sometimes you just have to find some dumb luck."
