Who would have predicted that hip-hop superstar Drake would have left the 2011 Juno Awards empty-handed, a loser in each of the six categories for which he received nominations. Drake hosted last year's 40th-anniversary ceremony at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, but tomorrow night he'll leave that chore to the inimitable William Shatner, who'll keep things together at Ottawa's Scotiabank Place, where planned performers include Simple Plan, Feist, Deadmau5, City and Colour, Hedley, Hey Rosetta! and Nickelback. And what of Drake? He'll have his fingers crossed again, hoping for better luck this year with his four noms.
