MONDAY AUGUST 11 The Conspiracy Show (Vision TV, 10 p.m. ET) You don’t have to believe Lee Harvey Oswald was a patsy to enjoy this smart Canadian docu-series. In each outing, radio personality Richard Syrett applies his enquiring mind toward investigating our country’s most famous, and occasionally infamous, unsolved mysteries. Tonight’s third-season opener takes him down a deep shaft on Nova Scotia’s remote Oak Island, better known as one of the world’s most expensive archaeological digs that never paid off. So why do some people still believe the Oak Island Treasure still exists?

TUESDAY AUGUST 12 Brandi & Jarrod: Married to the Job (A&E, 10 p.m.) Familiarity may breed contempt, but sometimes it can land you a reality show. Launching tonight, this new series revolves around the white-trash glam existences of Brandi Passante and Jarrod Schulz, already well known to viewers as the bickering picker-couple scavenging for abandoned locker contents on A&E’s mega-hit Storage Wars. As we learn here, Brandi and Jarrod also have two kids together and own a consignment store in Orange County, California. In the opener, Brandi tries to get in shape with help from a personal trainer, while Jarrod seeks advice on how to propose to Brandi. Wait, these two aren’t even married?

WEDNESDAY AUGUST 13 So You Think You Can Dance (Fox, CTV, 8 p.m.) Ever wonder how Fox’s no-frills dance competition keeps finding new fans each summer? Most likely because no celebrity hoofers are invited or involved and each fresh crop of real dancers vying for the lofty SYTYCD crown keeps getting better. The concept has hit its stride in season 11 and the current crop of finalists rank among the best in the show’s history. Tonight, the eight remaining dancers each take a turn on the dance floor with their all-star partners (almost all of whom are SYTYCD alumni), while regular judges Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy are joined by guest adjudicator Jenna Dewan Tatum.

THURSDAY AUGUST 14 NCR: Not Criminally Responsible (CBC, 9 p.m.) The most talked-about entry at the 2013 Hot Docs festival, this film from Emmy-winning Canadian documentarian John Kastner has the power to haunt the viewer for days. In unflinching fashion, the documentary relates the true story of Sean Clifton, a young man who in 1999 attempted to stab a woman to death at a crowded mall in Cornwall, Ont., while in the grip of psychosis. Twelve years later, his victim, Julie Bouvier, who somehow survived, is shocked to discover that Sean is back in the community and living under supervision – and if he succeeds in getting an absolute discharge, he’s no longer required to take the anti-psychotics numbing his mental illness. All viewpoints are considered as Kastner talks to the patient, the victim and everyone else involved.

FRIDAY AUGUST 15 The Sixties (CNN, 9 p.m.) Don’t let anybody tell you any different: Life as we know it began in the sixties. The final chapter of CNN’s well-received time-warp series is titled “Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll,” which seems fitting since it pays glowing homage to the decade that gave the world Andy Warhol, Woodstock, hippies and the Summer of Love. While most of the events chronicled in the closer will be already be familiar to regular Mad Men viewers, there’s fresh perspective gleaned from interviews with Rolling Stone magazine founder Jann Wenner and former Jefferson Airplane vocalist Grace Slick. Turns out White Rabbit was all about taking drugs!

SATURDAY AUGUST 16 The Listener (CTV, 9 p.m.) Better enjoy this fine homegrown drama series while you can: Higher TV powers recently decreed that The Listener’s current fifth season will also be the last, with the final episode scheduled to air on August 18. Which is a shame since the stories were tighter and the show had fresh energy courtesy of the burgeoning relationship between paramedic/psychic Toby (Craig Olejnik) and crime reporter Tia (Melanie Scrofano). And we really wanted to see whether Toby’s ex-partner Oz (Ennis Esmer) could make a success of his gastro-pub. In any case, tonight’s episode finds Toby going undercover when he believes an innocent man is being framed for murder. Toby’s just that kind of guy.

SUNDAY AUGUST 17 The Great Food Truck Race (Food Network, 9 p.m.) Oh, for the romantic life of a food-truck owner. Back for a fifth season, this culinary competition hosted by foodie kingpin Tyler Florence introduces viewers to eight brand-new teams of aspiring food truck owners, one of which will receive the grand prize of $50,000 and, well, a food truck. As in seasons past, each squad of chefs brings its own unique food theme and mawkish team name to the competition. Hence, we have The Gourmet Graduates dishing out swanky restaurant fare, Chatty Chicken dispensing fried-chicken variations and Let There Be Bacon serving up, well, you get the idea.
