Solomon to host new Newsworld show Add to ...

CBC-TV's Evan Solomon will host a new weekday afternoon show from Ottawa running from 5 to 7 p.m. on CBC Newsworld, beginning this fall. Solomon had long been rumoured as the top contender for the new political program, which is still unnamed and fills the hole left by veteran host Don Newman's retirement.

The CBC also announced a reshuffling of reporters and news beats. Terry Milewski will become the new senior correspondent in Ottawa. Keith Boag moves from Ottawa to Los Angeles to cover California and the West Coast, as part of CBC News's bigger push into covering news from the United States. Susan Bonner will join the Washington bureau, alongside Neil Macdonald, Paul Hunter and Michael Colton. David Common moves from Paris to the New York bureau.
