REALITY: Treasure Trader (History, 7 p.m.) What a shame we never really got to know Billy Jamieson. The hardcore treasure hunter, who passed away shortly after the making of this series, held a genuine passion for his vocation and truly believed that the next great find was always waiting around the corner. Which turns out to be prescient in tonight’s episode in which Billy and fiancé Jessica travel to Paris to negotiate a deal to buy an authentic rare Egyptian mummy. While in town, he wanders into a bizarre antiquities market, and doesn’t he just stumble upon an actual shrunken human head.

REALITY: Shark Tank (ABC, CTV Two, 8 p.m.) No question ABC is bullish on this show. The Disney-owned network recently granted a fourth-season renewal for Shark Tank, and this time the order was for 22 episodes, instead of the usual eight or 10. The format is virtually identical to our own Dragon’s Den and even includes two Dragons – Kevin O’Leary and Robert Herjavec – on the panel to which budding entrepreneurs come hat-in-hand begging for money. In tonight’s third-season outing, the man who invented Rollberblades seeks investment in his plan for an elevated monorail bike system, and man another pitches his idea for an air mattress that fits in the back of a pickup truck. Are there really that many NASCAR fans in the U.S.?

FOOD: You Gotta Eat Here! (Food Network, 9 p.m.) Comedy show or cooking series? This show’s unfettered format follows the very entertaining John Catucci all over Canada in his search for unique comfort-food experiences. Each restaurant featured holds big renown in its locality and the comfort food invariably involves a high-calorie repast. And Big John does cover the country. Tonight, his first stop is in Montreal to sample the hand-crushed tomatoes at the family run eatery Pizzeria Napoletana. Next, he’s in Victoria chowing down at the charming Floyd’s Diner. Last stop is Port Perry, Ontario, where the patrons of Haugen’s Chicken & Ribs have been known to slug back the dipping sauce in a shot glass. We are Canadian.

REALITY: I Found the Gown (TLC, 10 p.m.) Some day, in the not-too distant future, TLC will runs wedding-dress programs around the clock. The cable channel makes it an even half-dozen wedding-themed programs with this new arrival, which is filmed at Vows Bridal Outlet in Watertown, Mass., which caters to the cheap and sensible. Toward that noble cause, owners Rick and Leslie DeAngelo scour the country in search of warehouse events, liquidation clearouts and even yard sales. Tonight’s opener introduces three brides-to-be looking for the most frock for the least price.

MOVIE: A Guy Named Joe (TCM, 9:45 p.m. ET; 6:45 p.m. PT) The late Spencer Tracy could easily slip into the character of a priest (“Boys Town”) or a Portugese fisherman (“Captains Courageous”), so playing the ghost of a dead war hero was a breeze. In this 1943 drama, the two-time Oscar winner is a perfect fit as the rugged pilot Pete, who is flying bomber missions out of England during the Second World War. Pete’s sweetheart is Dorinda (Irene Dunne), a civilian pilot flying planes across the Atlantic. Pete dies heroically in action and thereafter comes back in ghostly visage to encourage Dorinda to find another guy – specifically, the rookie flyboy Ted (Van Johnson). The story was remade in the 1989 film “Always,” which still stands as a rare flop in the Steven Spielberg film canon.
