FOOD Pitchin’ In (Food Network, 7 p.m.) The great Canadian food trip just keeps rolling along. Now in its fourth season, this popular series documents the culinary travels of the charming celebrity chef Lynn Crawford, forever looking for the freshest ingredients. Tonight she’s all over the map in search of the prized Vidalia onion, which is known to be the vital ingredient for making the perfect French onion soup. While in the kitchen, Ms. Crawford also whips up a divine pork tenderloin served with caramelized Vidalia mashed potatoes and her famous blueberry buckle.
REALITY Baggage Battles (OLN, 9 p.m.) Have you ever wondered what happens to lost luggage that isn’t reclaimed? As with the abandoned lockers on Storage Wars, the suitcases and satchels are very often appropriated by the airport and then auctioned off. Kicking off its second season tonight, this series from the U.S. Travel Chanel follows three auction hustlers who specialize in picking up unclaimed and lost personal property and selling them for profit. Tonight’s episode covers the buy-and-sell action at the U.S. Customs auction in Brooklyn, N.Y., which specializes in selling unclaimed baggage from international flights. DRAMA Person of Interest (CBS, Citytv, 9 p.m.) Get ready for a road trip. While most episodes in this sophomore crime drama take place in New York, tonight’s episode takes the enigmatic computer genius Finch (Michael Emerson) and his hired gun Reese (James Caviezel) into strange new territory. It begins when Finch’s omniscient crime-predicting computer, aka “The Machine,” spits out the names of six people about to commit a crime or be involved in criminal activity. In search of further clues, Finch and Reese journey to a coastal town where they are forced to ride out a vicious storm with a group of people in a police station. As the storm rages outside, things become tense inside when Finch realizes that one of the locals is very likely a killer.
REALITY What Not to Wear (TLC, 10 p.m.) Still one of TLC’s most-watched programs, WNTW has maintained and even slightly expanded its loyal viewing audience since moving from Friday to Thursday night. Now in its 10 th season, the show’s drawing power remains the fashion rescue missions performed by the adorable Stacy London and Clinton Kelly, who still take the kinder and gentler approach to re-educating the hopelessly style-impaired. In tonight’s show, they deliver a reality check to Andrea, a working mom of five whose entire wardrobe consists of low-cut tops to showcase her ample cleavage.
MOVIE Connie and Carla (Vision, midnight) After writing and starring in the comedy My Big Fat Greek Wedding (made for $5-million, it earned nearly $400-million at the boxoffice), Winnipeg-born Nia Vardalos held Hollywood clout for a few years. Two years later she wrote and starred in this comedy and was even first-billed as Connie, a thirtysomething woman still desperately trying to break into musical theatre with her best pal Carla, played by Toni Collette. While working a lounge in Chicago, C&C witness a mob hit and lam out to Los Angeles, where they pretend to be drag queens and end up with hosting gigs at the draggiest drag club since La Cage aux Folles. But Mamma Mia, here comes the Mafia!
