REALITY Restaurant Takeover (Food Network, 7 p.m.) Have you ever been to a restaurant and wondered: How do they stay in business? In this Canadian-made series, two food-industry hotshots lend their expertise to struggling eateries in desperate need of an update. With hidden-camera footage, the pros attempt to discover what’s missing from each restaurant’s success recipe, followed by an intervention with the owner and a planning session for the makeover. In tonight’s episode, chef Derek Minkensky and designer Montana Burnett roll into a once-popular greasy spoon called Frankie’s that is gradually losing money and customers. The catch: The restaurant’s owner, Frankie, seems perfectly content to let the place go down the drain.

REALITY Undercover Boss (CBS, CTV Two, 8 p.m.) Currently in its fourth season, this series based on a British TV concept continues to find new ways to sneak in the bosses of major corporations among the rank and file of the companies they run. In tonight’s new outing, Cinnabon president Kat Cole–the youngest boss ever featured in the series–goes undercover at several store locations as a trainee. The mission is nearly derailed, however, when one sharp-eyed customers nearly blows Cole’s cover by pointing out the hidden cameras. Oops.

DRAMA CSI: NY (CBS, CTV, 9 p.m.) The pressure on kids to get good grades has never been more intense. In tonight’s new episode of this reliable crime drama, CSI boss Mac Taylor (Gary Sinise) are summoned to a respected New York prep school when a student is murdered while studying for the SATs. Could the killer really be a jealous fellow student? Veteran character actor Mark Moses, seen most recently as “Duck” Phillips on Mad Men, guest-stars as the victim’s teacher.Cliff Lipson

NEWS Dateline NBC (NBC, CTV Two, 10 p.m.) Feel a twinge of pride tonight as Canada’s own Andrea Canning joins TV’s sturdiest newsmagazine, now in its 20 th season. The native of Collingwood, Ontario, made her bones last year by landing the first network TV interview with Charlie Sheen in the days immediately following his public meltdown and departure from Two And a Half Men. In her Dateline debut tonight, she sits down with Gossip Girl actress Kelly Rutherford to discuss her recent court battle that saw a California judge award custody of her two young children to her ex-husband in France. Make us proud, Andrea.

MOVIE Lawrence of Arabia( TCM, 8 p.m. ET) Epic in every sense of the word, this 1962 British film demands repeat viewing. The movie recounts the eventful life and times of Thomas Edward Lawrence, convincingly played by Peter O’Toole in his greatest screen performance. The story opens with Lawrence’s death in an English motorcycle accident at the age of 46, and then works backward to his days as a young English intelligence officer in Cairo in 1916. Ordered to investigate the progress of the Arab revolt against the Turks during the First World War, Lawrence organizes a makeshift guerrilla army and leads the Arabs in an extended assault against their enemies over a two-year period. Winner of seven Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director.
