Photographer Mark Kasumovic documents the massive power lines bisecting the landscape and the lives of Canadians in his series of shots I Can Hear You Humming. One photo shows what looks like a young family on a casual weekend idle on the boardwalk in Hamilton, Ont., blithely ignoring (or trying to) the mammoth power line towering behind them, all shot in soothing afternoon light. Fittingly, the exhibit is at Toronto Image Works, the photo-development business of industrial landscape photographer Ed Burtynsky, famous for his work documenting environmental destruction. The exhibit opens on Thursday and runs until Jan. 30.
