IC Savings is proud to announce the appointment of Charles Sousa, business and community leader and former provincial politician, to its Board of Directors. Currently, Mr. Sousa spearheads multiple real estate development projects in Ontario, and consults within the Canadian financial services sector. After working for 20 years in commercial banking, he entered public service. His decade-long political career included several key cabinet positions, such as Minister of Finance from 2013 to 2018. In this capacity, he delivered six budgets and, notably, initiated the creation of the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario. Mr. Sousa has served on numerous community boards and with chambers and business associations. An ardent advocate for education and financial literacy, especially among youth, he serves on the board of Canadian University Dubai. He also chairs Magellan Community Charities, a non-profit organization that will build and operate a long-term care home with affordable housing units in Toronto’s west end for Portuguese-speaking seniors.
IC Savings is a community credit union that brings the benefits of co-operative banking to its more than 20,000 personal and business members in the GTA.
