Dr. Brett Fairbairn, President and Vice-Chancellor, Thompson Rivers University

Thompson Rivers University welcomes its new President and Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Brett Fairbairn, a distinguished academic and advocate for universities and higher education.

Dr. Fairbairn’s teaching and research have focused on democracy, social movements and co-operative enterprises in Canada and around the world. He was most recently a faculty member in the University of Saskatchewan Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy. A Rhodes Scholar, Dr. Fairbairn holds a doctorate in Modern History from the University of Oxford. He has been honoured with a number of awards, including the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002.
