Dr. Nancy Whitmore, Registrar and CEO, The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario is pleased to announce that Dr. Nancy Whitmore was selected as the College’s Registrar and CEO and began her role on June 4th. Dr. Whitmore is a recognized health care leader who is widely respected for her management expertise, integrity and clinical abilities.
Prior to becoming Vice President and Chief of Staff and then President and CEO of the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, Dr. Whitmore had a long clinical career as a community obstetrician and gynecologist. She is skilled in Lean process redesign and utilized this methodology to drive continuous improvement to achieve high quality, safe patient care.
Dr. Whitmore received her medical degree from the University of Manitoba and subsequently completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Western University. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and also a graduate of the MBA program at the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University.
