Hartley T. Richardson, LVO, O.C., O.M., LL.D., is the seventh family President of James Richardson & Sons, Limited, a position he has held since 1993. In addition to holding the positions of President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Richardson has been appointed Executive Chair of JRSL. He has representation in a board or executive capacity on most of the Firm’s subsidiary companies, and is President and a trustee of the Richardson Foundation, which oversees the philanthropy of JRSL and its affiliated companies.
Mr. Richardson is Past-Chairman of the Business Council of Canada and Past-Chairman of the Business Council of Manitoba, and is actively involved in a number of charitable endeavours and community organizations.
A graduate of the University of Manitoba, B. Com (Hons), Mr. Richardson received the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws from the University of Manitoba in 2004 and the University of Winnipeg in 2012. He was appointed to the Order of Manitoba 2008, and also appointed a Member of the Order of Canada in 2007. He was promoted to an Officer within the Order of Canada in 2013, and in 2019, was appointed a Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order.
