The Fonds de solidarité FTQ is pleased to announce the appointment of Janie C. Béïque as President and Chief Executive Officer.

A lawyer by trade and a seasoned executive with more than 20 years of experience with the Fonds, Ms. Béïque’s term begins on April 1, 2021. Ms. Béïque arrives at the helm of the organization after previously serving as Executive Vice-President, Investments since 2018. In this role, she successfully defined a strategic vision for the investment sector and provided hands-on leadership enabling the Fonds to meet the evolving needs of Québec businesses. During that time, she also put in place a team of experts who provide companies with the necessary resources and strategic advice to carry out their projects.

Ms. Béïque joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 2000 as Vice-President, Legal Affairs, and Corporate Secretary. She joined the investment sector in 2008, where she served as Senior Vice-President. In 2017 she was promoted to Chief of Investments and Strategic Investment Initiatives, assuming responsibility not only for managing this sector’s operations but for defining and implementing the Fonds’ strategic investment orientations. Prior to joining the Fonds, Ms. Béïque was a partner at the law firm of McCarthy Tétrault.

With a strategic vision and a constant drive to innovate in a world undergoing profound transformation and facing major challenges, Ms. Béïque aims to quickly define the best way forward for the Fonds to fully play its role, both for savers and companies, in a post-pandemic context.

Among her many accomplishments, Ms. Béïque was named by L’Expert magazine as one of the Top 40 Corporate Counsel Under 40 and in 2014 she won the ZSA award in the “Accomplishment and Business Strategy” category. She has been a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors since 2012 and in 2015 earned an MBA from Georgetown University and ESADE University. In 2016 and 2018, she was named an “Innovation Leader” by the Government of Canada and asked to moderate round tables in Québec and the Maritimes with a view to helping the federal government develop its innovation strategy.
