EDC Welcomes Recent Board Appointments
EDC’s Board of Directors plays an invaluable role in helping EDC achieve its mandate: to contribute to Canada’s prosperity by growing Canadian export trade and supporting businesses as they go, grow and succeed internationally. EDC is a self-sustaining, financial Crown corporation with a Board appointed by the Government of Canada.
Ms. Martine Irman was appointed Chair of EDC’s Board of Directors in November 2017. Ms. Irman is Vice Chair and Head of Global Enterprise Banking, TD Securities, and Senior Vice President, TD Bank Group. An expert in international finance and capital markets, Ms. Irman is also a celebrated industry leader.
Joining Ms. Irman are six new Directors to the Board of EDC: Mr. Pierre Boivin, Mr. Karna Gupta, Ms. Karen MacWilliam, Mr. Pierre Matuszewski, Ms. Andrea Stairs, and Ms. Kari Yuers. EDC also welcomes back five re-appointed Directors: Ms. Heather J. Culbert, Mr. Lindsay Gordon, Mr. Elliot Lifson, Mr. Robert S. McLeese, and Ms. Darlène Thibault.
We welcome the new and re-appointed Board members who are joining EDC at a time of rapid change in the world of international trade. These seasoned professionals, who hail from across Canada, have a breadth of experience in numerous fields, including: international business, risk management, insurance, finance, human resources, law, marketing, energy and technology. With these new appointments, EDC’s Board membership is now gender balanced, reflecting our commitment to diversity and inclusion.
