The Institute of Corporate Directors welcomes a new member to the Board of Directors.

Nora Duke, ICD.D, St. John’s, NL.

Nora Duke most recently held the position of Executive Vice President, Sustainability and Chief Human Resource Officer at Fortis Inc. prior to her retirement in June 2022. Over her career at Fortis, she held various executive roles at both the subsidiary and parent company level and served as a director on a number of subsidiary boards both in Canada and the United States. Duke has additionally served on various industry and private sector boards including Destination Canada and Slate Office REIT. She was twice named one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women by the Women’s Executive Network. Duke has volunteered extensively in several areas including healthcare, entrepreneurship and helping at-risk youth.

Established in 1981, the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) is a not-for-profit, member-based organization representing Canadian directors and boards across the for-profit, not-for-profit and Crown sectors.

As Canada’s largest director community, the ICD creates forums for dialogue, hosts networking opportunities and provides access to world-class resources for more than 16,500 members and a network of 11 Chapters. Members who successfully complete the ICD-Rotman Director Education Program (DEP) and ICD-led examination process earn the highly recognized ICD.D designation.
