The Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation is proud to announce the appointment of Pascale Fournier, Ad.E., as the Foundation’s new President and Chief Executive Officer.
A Doctor in Law from Harvard University and a member of the Royal Society of Canada College, Pascale Fournier is an exceptional and engaging intellectual leader whose academic trajectory is marked by strong multidisciplinary achievements. A prolific and bilingual author, her academic contributions address several of the themes dear to the Foundation: human rights and human dignity, Canada’s role in the world, and responsible citizenship. At the time of her appointment, Pascale Fournier was a full professor at the University of Ottawa Civil Law section where she held the Research Chair in Legal Pluralism and Comparative Law.
Fascinated by the power of words and their unifying effect, Pascale Fournier has taught all over the world, from Haiti to Costa Rica to Iran. In 2014, the Washington DC-based International Women’s Forum designated her as one of 35 women in the world showing leadership in her community, and Canadian Lawyer named her “one of the Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers in Canada” in the “Worldstage” category in 2015.
