Adam Watson is a portfolio manager and co-founder of the JMRD Watson Wealth Management team (www.jmrdwealth.com) at National Bank Financial. His 18-person team operates in four offices along Ontario’s Highway 401 corridor. His areas of expertise include portfolio management, financial planning and estate planning for high-net-worth families.

Adam draws on 15 years of experience in the industry. He had prepared for this career his whole life, as a second-generation Wealth Advisor who grew up working with his parents in high school, university and beyond.

Adam is able to develop comprehensive wealth management solutions for families, professionals and business owners, as well as services that are commonly offered by family offices.

Providing financial peace of mind goes beyond any one client or person. The team strives to build long-lasting relationships with entire families using a multi-generational approach.

Adam and the JMRD Watson Team received National Bank Financials’ prestigious Wealth Management Excellence Award in 2019, and the Private Portfolio of the Year Award in 2020 and 2022.

Beyond National Bank Financial, Adam was recognized as a 2020 nominee of the Investment Industry Association of Canada (IIAC) Top Under 40 award. In 2022, Wealth Professional magazine named Adam as one of their Top 50 Advisors. The JMRD Watson Team was also named Advisory Team of the Year (10 staff or more) at the 2022 Wealth Professional awards.

Adam earned an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Finance from Wilfrid Laurier University. His industry designations include Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FSCI), Financial Management Advisor (FMA) and Personal Financial Planner (PFP). Adam also has completed his Life License Qualification Program (LLQP).

Adam has been busy over the last few years with his family. He and Jocelyn are the parents to a little girl and they are very involved in her daily life and her very busy social calendar. When Adam is not at work or chasing his daughter, he enjoys playing hockey, golfing, and watching the Toronto Blue Jays, Michigan Wolverines and sports in general. He is an avid reader with ever expanding interests, especially historical accounts and biographies. His commitment to lifelong learning has led to a new interest in podcasts.
